Hint :In order to solve this question, we are going to state the types of systems that have been formed in order to define the various systems of units. After that, the systems stated are defined and explained along with the respective quantities with their units and the respective examples.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Starting off with the systems of the units used commonly, we have the following systems of the units:
CGS system: This is the centimeter-gram-second system for the units of length, mass and time respectively.
FPS system: This is the foot-pound-second system for the units of length, mass and time respectively.
MKS system: The MKS system of units is a physical system of measurement that uses the metre, kilogram, and second as base units.
SI: Also known as Systeme International d'Unites. This is a complete set of units and used in all countries. This consists of metre for length, kilogram for mass, second for time, ampere for current, degree Kelvin for temperature. The magnitudes of the basic units are defined in terms of standards, which are supposed to be stable and unchanging.
Note :
The FPS system is usually taken for the very large measurements like that of the dimensions of a room. The CGS system is used for the very small measurements of the length and mass while the MKS system is taken for the large masses while the SI units system is acceptable for almost all the measurements and is widely used.
