Hint: The nervous system of the body is extremely complex. This nervous system helps to control the movement of all the parts of the body as well as the functioning of the organs. There are two distinct parts to this system: the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
Complete answer:
The nervous system of the body is made up of the central nervous system(CNS) and the peripheral nervous system(PNS). The central nervous system of the body includes the brain and the spinal cord while the peripheral system includes all the other portions. The somatic nervous system comes under the peripheral nervous system.
The function of the somatic nervous system is to help the regulation of voluntary movements in the body. These nerves are able to connect all the muscles in our body to the central nervous system. Thus this allows the central nervous system to control all the movements in our body without much delay. This system is in charge of the voluntary movements in the body thus it is also known as the voluntary nervous system.
Note:
The somatic nervous system is one of the two parts that make up the peripheral nervous system of the body. It is responsible for regulating the voluntary movement of the body and it connects the muscles in the body to the central nervous system to allow better communication.
