Hint: Whenever it is said to solve an equation containing a single variable then you have to get the value of the variable present in it. So for this we will take variables to the LHS and constants to the RHS and then simplify.

Complete step-by-step answer:
The given equation is $3x = 2x – 18.$
On solving this equation we get,
First we will shift 2x to LHS,
$\Rightarrow 3x – 2x = -18$
$\Rightarrow x = -18$
Hence, the answer is $x=-18$.

Note: In this question you need to solve the equation given and get the value of x by transposing the terms. We need to take care that if positive term transfer then the term becomes negative and if negative term transfer it becomes positive.
