Hint:- When an object changes its position with the respect to its surroundings then the object is said to be in motion. Whether a body is in motion or at rest understood with a reference to a reference frame.
The motion that does not depend on external to the moving object for its existence or specific nature is known as absolute motion.
And, when an object is at absolute rest and the other body is in motion, then the reference body is in absolute motion.
Complete step by step solution:
As we know motion is defined as the change of position of an object with respect to time. Everything in this universe is in motion. Whether it's in absolute or relative motion. The concept of reference frames is introduced to discuss relative motion in one or more dimensions. if an object is in a motion, its respect to some frame that is known as the reference frame
If we see a car is moving it's considered to be in motion concerning a standing tree. The tree is considered at absolute rest and is in absolute motion. But if two cars are moving in the same direction with the same velocity then there will not be any change of distance between them. Then, one will be considered in a motion with respect to the other.
On the other hand, if two people are sitting face to face in a car. There will be no change in position between them. Here we can say that one is at rest with respect to the other one. According to them, they are not moving but if someone observes them from outside the train they are moving. This kind of motion is known as relative motion. So, a reference object is needed to determine if an object is in motion or at rest.
Note: Hence, the earth is moving around the sun so, every object on the earth is in motion with respect to the universe. We can say that all rests in this universe are relative and all motions are relative. No motions are absolute or absolutely at rest.
