
How can saturated solutions become unsaturated?

Hint: Solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more than two substances. Solution is made up of two components known as solute and solvent where solute is that substance which gets dissolved and solvent is that substance in which solute is dissolved and they both make a solution.

We know that solute is dissolved in solvent and after dissolving the solute a state is reached when in solution no more solute is added if we add more solute in it then it will not dissolve in that solution it forms precipitates in the solution which is not soluble in that solvent that point is known as saturated point or that solution called saturated solution.
Unsaturated solutions are those solutions in which the amount of dissolved solute is less than the saturation point of the solvent in an easy manner. We can describe that when a solute is dissolved in a solvent, then that solution is known as unsaturated solution. Unsaturated solutions have the ability to dissolve more solute in them until they reach the saturation point.
We learn that solubility of the solution depends upon the temperature, pressure and forces between them. Hence saturated solution can be converted into unsaturated solution by increasing the temperature. As by increasing the temperature precipitations get dissolved in saturated solution and it gets converted into unsaturated solution.
Note:
In an unsaturated solution the concentration of the solute is lower than the equilibrium point of that solvent. Each solute will have a limit with respect to the specific solvent. Therefore we can say that each solute has a different solubility value.
