Sheep are herbivores and grass and leaves are preferred. Along with grazing sheep, rearers are often provided food as a mixture of various pulses, corn, jowar, and oil cakes (material left after seed oil) which are rich in minerals. Sheep are kept indoors in winter and are supplemented with leaves, grain, and dry food. Sheep have been farmed for wool in many parts of our world.
The wool comes from sheep, goats, yaks, and other species. These wool-bearing animals have fur in their skins. Some breeds of sheep have a thick coat of fur on their body that contains large quantities of high-quality wool.
