Hint: An article is to be written on a topic as given in Question. In such topic writing, we can get several hints and points through which we need to expand our thoughts on the matter. In this regard, a proportionate and rational viewpoint can be achieved which compulsorily does not cross the boundary as drawn or pre-defined in the question.

Complete answer:
Ragging-An evil
By Navita
Debalina Haldar is an active member of ‘Female Ward' team, which is one of premiere organizations in NCR raising their voices against ragging and other atrocities done against women. According to her, nowadays we have seen the malice of the ragging in such a huge propensity, which has had no connection with its previous logic or any substantive viewpoints for which this was once introduced in our formal social lives.
It was a practice of British era where the originality of this system sought to build a system of obedience and respect for hierarchy. It was intended to enforce the intrinsic value of tradition and discipline of a prevailing organization or unit. Thus, we have seen the substitute of the teacher in classes, who are called ‘Prefect’ whose main objective was to maintain the discipline of the class.
But in modern times we have seen that erstwhile authority is being started to be misused over and over. It shows the intent only to dominate the new people by showing the powers but does not have any intent to do the good for them.
The solution can be concluded in a single line indeed. In the changed society (in free India), under the impressions of new thoughts and concepts, there is no need to deploy the vague concept of maintaining discipline. The true manifestation of education and rational mind can easily eradicate this menace if the law-enforcing authority and other people have been aware about this and take necessary steps to control as well.

Note: A short paragraph or narration brings out many benefits at a one go. As we discussed earlier that through giving points and hints, the discussion stays always within a distinct extent. Most importantly, being short and crisp (as the word limits are given) one does not feel any weary of reading of lengthy, monotonous narration.
