Hint: Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar, popularly known as Akbar. He was the third Mughal emperor reigning from 1556 to 1605. Preceded by his father Humayun, who helped the upcoming emperor expand and rule over all the Mughal domains in India

Complete step by step answer:
The earliest known history of Kalinjar is recorded by the District Gazetteer of Agra and Oudh, mentioning that Kalinjar fort was conquered by the Emperor Samudragupta of the Imperial Gupta dynasty in 336 CE. Kalinjar achieved its prominence under the rule of the Chandellas ruling the region between the 9th-13th centuries CE. The Chandella kingdom then called Jejakabhukti, included parts of Bundelkhand. King Yashovarman was the founder of the Chandella dynasty who ruled between 925 and 950 CE and conquered the Kalinjar fort. The capital was at Khajuraho where he built the famous Lakshmana temple. In 1019 CE, with the Invasion of Mahmud of Ghazni, Kalinjar became prominent again. Mahmud Ghazni attacked the Chandella kingdom and Kalinjar during his 10th invasion of India. The Chandelles ruled Kalinjar till 1202 CE when Qutubuddin Aibak led a large army and conquered the fort from Parmadideva and destroyed the Chandella power. This resulted in the fort becoming a part of the Delhi Sultanate. But Chandellas took control of it again due to the weak reign of Aram Shah in 1210-1211. In November 1544 CE, Kalinjar was attacked by Sher Shah Suri, the Afghan ruler of Delhi. Under Birbal and Chhatrasal Islam Shah, Sher Shah Suri’s son seized the fort in the same year and ordered to kill everyone inside the fort. Akbar captured the fort in 1569 CE under his reign and gifted it to Birbal, his favorite courtier as a jagir who enjoyed the Kalinjar jagir till his death in 1586 CE. The fort stayed with the Bundelas till 1812 CE, when on 8th February 1812 CE, the Bundelas surrendered, handing over the fort to the Britishers.

So, the correct answer is Option :

Note: Alexander Cunningham, the founder of Archaeological Survey of India excavated the site and found the actual antiquity of the fort. Since 1904, the fort has been under the Archaeological Survey of India and is home to multiple structures like temples, ponds, mosques, tombs, gateways, and palaces.
