Hint: Generally multiple pseudopodia (polypoidal, e.g. Amoeba proteus) emerge from the surface of the body, or a single pseudopod can develop on the surface of the body (monopodial, e.g. Entamoeba histolytica).Pseudopod-making cells are commonly referred to as amoeboids.

Complete answer:
Pseudopod, meaning "false" and "feet" respectively, comes from the Greek words pseudes and podos. They are projections of the unicellular protists or eukaryotic cell membrane cytoplasm. In a process called lamellipodium, which is supported by the microfilaments, the surface of the cell projects a membrane, often created by the filament structure and microtubule.

The temporary arm-like projection of a eukaryotic cell membrane that grows in the direction of motion is a pseudopod or pseudopodium. In amoebas, they are also found.

Pseudopodia's functions include locomotion and ingestion:
a.In sensing targets which can then be engulfed, pseudopodia are critical; the engulfing pseudopodia are referred to as pseudopodia phagocytosis. The macrophage is a typical example of this type of amoeboid cell.
b.Amoeboid-like locomotion is also important. One clear example of this role is human mesenchymal stem cells:

There are four types of pseudopodia in the Protozoans.
1.Lobopodia: Amoeba trait, blunt and fingerlike,
2.Filopodia: slender and tapering, forming simple, branched networks sometimes,
3.Reticulopodia are branching filaments found in foraminiferans that fuse to form food traps.
4.Axopodia: Long and sticky (like reticulopodia) are typical of the actinopods, but radiate singly and have a rigid internal rod made up of numerous microtubules.
As a result of the pressure system, lobopodia and filopodia are formed; reticulopodia and axopodia rely on the cytoplasm's two-way flow.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A)

Note: It is also used in prey capture and ingestion, on the other hand. They are also used during food hunting to ingest particulate matter while providing mobility. It is also important to detect nearby prey that allows organisms like the amoeba via the phagocytosis process to engulf matter. In this process to create a membrane-enclosed sac that pinches off to create a food vacuole before the food is fully digested, the needle projections surround the food particle.
