How on Earth are we made of stardust? I just don’t get it. We, humans, are made of something that has been ushered off of a star's shoulders. I mean, really.

Hint: Stardust is a scientific word which refers to the refractory dust grains that condense from cooling ejected gases from individual presolar stars. They are encompassed into the cloud from which the Solar System is condensed.

Complete answer: When the universe was built, it was a multitude of subatomic particles. As they eventually formed into hydrogen and helium, they gravitate together into stars, developing a tremendous amount of energy. As a result, new elements are created, the base material being carbon.Other vital elements for life nitrogen, oxygen and heavier components. When a large star perishes it erupts forming a cloud of gas comprising such crucial elements. These clouds of gas form new star systems.
The origin of our solar system was a gas cloud which was the residues of a large star. All of the components in our bodies, except hydrogen were created in the core of a long deceased star.

Thus, it can be said that we are truly made of stardust!
