Hint:Nerve impulses are the way by which neurons communicate with one another. Nerve impulses are defined to be mostly electrical which runs along the dendrites to produce nerve impulse or action potential. The action potential generated is the result of the movement of ions in and out of the cell.

Complete step by step answer:Nerve impulses in neurons travel only in one direction. This transmission of impulses mainly depends on synaptic transmission. This occurs because nerve cells have only single transmission sights for them. The receptors are also in only one direction. As such it is a signal that travels along the nerve fibers. It is based on nerve/electrical depolarization and repolarization. Moreover, the nerve cells have neurotransmitters storage vesicles only in one way.
As described, synaptic transport is responsible for one way of transport. To the passage of nerve impulses from cell to another cell, they must cross the synaptic junctions. The nerve cells are lined in such a way forming a long track with the head of a nerve cell joining the tail of another cell. But there are tiny gaps in between these cells. These tiny gaps are known as nerve synapses. When a nerve firing occurs, an action potential is generated along the track of nerves. Sodium ions flow in the cells and potassium ions flow out of the cell generating an action potential by the formation of an electrochemical gradient.
In simple words, we can say that because of the single way of neurotransmitter storage vesicles and receptors in one place impulse transmission takes place in one way or direction.

Note:Nerve cells also called neurons are part of the nervous system which are active components of it. These connect and other tissue of the body via nerve impulses/electric signals which allow the effector organs to respond to a particular stimulus. Neurons are presently forming a large track connected in the body.
