Hint: Nerve cells exist in the nervous system that support the transmit impulses or messages from one part of the body to other parts. They have a cord-like shape which is an adaptation for such cells to transmit impulses or messages for long distances. Due to lack of centrosomes in the neuron, nerve cells miss the capacity to divide and replicate.

Complete answer:
The system which regulates the body’s movements, sends and carries signals to and from the several parts of the body, as well as it has a role in governing bodily purposes such as digestion is called the nervous system. Nervous tissue is grouped into two main categories: neurons and neuroglia.
Neuron cells: Neurons are cells which can convey signals, known as nerve impulses, or action potentials. An action potential is a rapid rise and fall in the electrical covering potential of the neuron, that transmits signals from one neuron to the next. These are the different types of neurons:
Sensory, or afferent neurons; they transfer evidence from the PNS to the CNS; various categories of sensory neurons can detect temperature, pressure, and light.
Motor, or efferent neurons; it sends indications from the CNS to the PNS; these signals provide data to sensory neurons to “tell” them what to do. Interneurons connect sensory as well as motor neurons to the brain and spinal cord; they act as connectors to form neural circuits and are implicated with reflex actions along with higher brain processes like decision-making. Neurons have a cell body that resembles a star because of numerous dendritic projections.

Note: Neurons can be specialized and their structures differ from one another. It is of four types namely; unipolar, bipolar, pseudo polar and multipolar, but each has elements in common such as soma, or cell body and the nucleus.
