-Rajya Sabha: The Rajya Sabha or the council of state is the upper house of India’s bicameral parliament. It currently has a maximum of 245 members of whom 233 are elected by state and union legislatures via a one-time, assignable and open ballot, while the president can appoint 12 members who contribute to arts, literature, science, and social services. The potential capacity of the Rajya Sabha is 250 ( 238 elected and 12 appointed) under Article 80 of the Indian constitution. Qualification to the membership of Rajya Sabha: must be a citizen of India, he must be not less than 30 years of age, must not be an undischarged insolvent.

-Lok Sabha: The Lok Sabha consists of representatives of the people who are elected by direct voting based on universal adult suffrage. The maximum composition of the assembly as stipulated in the constitution is 552, consisting of the election of up to 530 members to represent the status, 20 up to members to represent the Union Territory, and no more than two members of the Anglo- Indian community by the president if nominated, if, in his/her opinion, the community is not sufficiently represented in the house. Qualification to the membership of Lok Sabha: must be an Indian citizen, must not be under 25 years old, he has to be a voter for every constituency in India.
