They lack specialized organs for breathing. They respire through moist, thin, highly vascular skin body surfaces. Earthworm lives in moist soil and moist its body, also glands of epidermis secretes mucus and dorsal pore ooze out coelomic fluid. Oxygen from the atmosphere dissolves in these fluids and diffuses into blood through the skin and carbon dioxide is released out by skin. This type of respiration is cutaneous respiration.

Mosquitoes are insects, they have trachea for breathing. They neither breathe through mouth nor through the nose, but oxygen enters their body by small pores called spiracles. Spiracles are covered by hair to prevent dust and other particles from entering inside. Trachea are made up of chitinous rings. The trachea is divided into tracheoles, and further thinner tubes that reach inside the body.
The larvae of insects like mosquitoes live in water and breathe through a siphon.
