Salvador Guillermo Allende Gossens was born in the year 1908 to 26th June in Santiago. He originally belonged to a Chilean middle class family and possessed a long tradition of political background as his grandfather was one the prominent physician and social reformers. He was a Chilean physician and socialist politician who served as the President of Chile from 3rd November 1970 to 11th September 1973. So, he belonged to the Socialist Party of Chile. He is known to be the first Marxist to be elected for the post of President in liberal democracy in Latin America.
He laid the foundation of Socialist Party of Chile in 1933 in Valparaiso and served as its Chairman. He had also served as the Minister of Health in the Chamber of Deputies in 1937. He had implemented various programs such as promotion of higher pensions, free school lunch programs for the children and made safety laws to be followed in the factory by workers.

Therefore, he was the founder of Socialist Party of Chile.

Note:He committed suicide by gunshot using AK-47 on 11th September 1973 in Santiago, Chile.
In his memory a bridge in Berlin, Germany has been named after him. The glasses of Salvador Allende have been displayed as his remains in the Chilean National History Museum in the year 1996 found by a woman.
