Hint: The idea of families of plants used to group those plants together that share common characteristics in between them. Knowing which family a plant belongs to can be very helpful in knowing the general morphology of that plant species. We need to know about their families to know about them.

Complete answer:
There are many families to which different species of plants belong. Families to which the above plants belong are:
(I). PISUM: Fabecaea family
It is regarded as the second largest family of the flowering plants. In India, there are about 1100 species belonging to more than 100 genera. The family is cosmopolitan, growing in varied type of soil and climatic conditions. It is mostly found in abundant in temperate and warm climates. They are herbaceous in the fabaceae family, originally from the mediterannean basin and Near East.
(II). ONION: Alliaceae family
It is a family of herbaceous perennial, flowering plants. Members of the genus include many economically important crops and garden vegetables such as garden onion. It occurs in temperate climates of the northern hemisphere, except for the few species occurring in Chile, Brazil etc. Allius is a genus of perennial bulbous plants which produces a chemical substance that gives them a characteristic onion taste or odour.
(III). POTATO: Solanaceae family
The solanaceae family is distributed well in tropics and subtropics, though a few plants of this family are found in temperate zones. Many plants of this family are cultivated for its great economic importance. Many of these are used as model organisms in the investigations of fundamental biological levels. The poisonous alkaloids are present in these species which have given the latter its sombre vernacular name of "nightshade". They are usually annuals, biennials, or perennials and are usually herbs, though some species grow as shrubs or small plants.

Note: Taxonomic rank is a relative level of a group of organisms in a taxonomic hierarchy which are species, genus, family, order, class , phylum, kingdom, domain etc. Family is a rank which contains one or more genera. All the genera of a family have some common feature. They are separable from the genera of a related family by some important and characteristic difference.
