Hint: This cell organelle functions as a micromachine for making proteins.it generally comprises special proteins and nucleic acids and found in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. In eukaryotic cells, it is found in mitochondria and chloroplast also.

Complete answer
Ribosomes have a unique structure. It translates the DNA code through a messenger RNA into a protein.
-In comparison to other cell organelles ribosomes are very different in various aspects like they have no membrane around them, consists of two subunits, found free-floating by performing their functions, and produce certain proteins which bound to the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum.
-Other organs like mitochondria and lysosomes are covered by a lipid membrane that separates them from other structures in the cell whereas ribosomes are found as free structures that float through the cytoplasm of the cell.
-Ribosomes don't have a membrane that gives permission to pick up the translational RNA which is released from the nucleus and holds free amino acid in order to produce protein chains.

Hence, Ribosomes are not membranous.

Additional information
-Ribosomes are present in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Ribosomes are needed by every cell to manufacture protein. In prokaryotes, there are no membrane-bound organelles. So, ribosomes float free in the cytosol.
-The proteins are made by this floating ribosome that will be used inside the cells. On the surface of the endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes are also found that make them appear rough and called the rough endoplasmic reticulum.
-Ribosomes are made up of two subunits. One is large and the other is a small subunit. In eukaryotes, 60 s is a large and 40s is a small subunit whereas in prokaryotes 50s is a large and 30s is a small subunit.
-Some ribosomes are also attached to the nuclear envelope. There it synthesizes the protein and releases it into the perinuclear space.

Note: -So, ribosomes are cell organelle that is not bounded by a membrane. It comprises rRNA and proteins.
-Ribosomes are important for the synthesis of proteins and also helps in translating the DNA code through the messenger RNA into the actual proteins which are used by the cells for different processes.
