Hint: Depending upon the community the nature will decide upon the species of the community who is to be selected for evolution. This can be based upon the type of the species and its characters.
Complete answer:
in the process of natural selection the ability and the characteristics of a particular species are taken into course and then its is decided upon them whether they are capable of evolving into a better species by nature. The main three type of the natural selection are
1. Directional Selection
In this type of natural selection, nature favors one of the extremes of the continuous variation which is existing in the community. This can be any species whichever gets preferred by nature. The intermediate species of the community are not selected at all in this type of selection. As the time will go on, one of the extreme species will increase its number and the species which were not selected will eventually go at the point of extinction.
2. Stabilizing Selection
In this type of natural selection nature favors the continuous variations of the intermediate species and the species on the extreme sides are neglected and they are not selected. Over the period of time the extreme species will slip into extinction and the number of the intermediate species will increase.
3. Disruptive Selection
In this type of natural selection, the selection of the continuous variable species which is at the extreme point of the community will be done. Also, one thing which should be kept in mind Is that in this type of selection, both of the extreme species are selected and the intermediate species are neglected. The population of intermediate species will decrease with time.
Note:
The types of natural selection basically mean that whether the extreme species will be selected or the intermediate species will be selected. Interspecies selection angle should be rejected in this case.
