To solve this question, we should know about the fertilization process in humans. Fertilization is the process in which the male sperm and female egg get fused to form a zygote that develops into a fetus inside the uterus. During this process the semen that ejaculates by the males while sexual intercourse comprise thousands of sperm cells. The sperm move towards the uterus and reach to the fallopian tube opening. From the thousands of sperm few can reach the fallopian tube. Now, the secondary oocytes produced from the mature graafian follicle of the ovary enter inside the fallopian tube where it gets fertilized and released from the ovary. The oocyte is surrounded by several sperms but it gets fertilized only by one sperm. The sperm enter in the secondary oocyte in meiosis II phase and completes the meiosis this results in the formation of egg. After this phase, within 48 to 72 hours the sperm and the egg fuse and form the zygote and the female get pregnant.
Now, to control the unwanted birth or birth control there are many birth control pills available like; Mala D. This is a contraceptive pill that consists of either progesterone only or both progesterone and estrogen combine. The pills are taken orally for 21 days during menstrual cycle starts from the 5th day to 25th day. This hormonal pills acts as; inhibition of ovulation, altering the endometrium uterine, so that it gets inappropriate for implantation by changing in cervical mucus, and it impairs sperm passage by inhibiting the motility and hormone secretion of the fallopian tubes.
Note:Other than contraceptive pills there are many other methods of controlling birth are available, like using condoms during sexual intercourse, IUDs method, tubal ligation, vasectomy method, and the rhythm methods.
