Moles are defined as the given mass of the atom is divided by the atomic weight of the atom.

\[{\text{Given Weight Of The Atom = number of moles}} \times {\text{atomic weight of the atom}}\]
If we want the given weight of the atom to be the product of the number of moles of the atom and the atomic weight of the atom.

For example in solution A and B are substances. X is the moles of substance A and Y is the moles of substance B in the solution.
We want to calculate the mole percent of A in the solution . The moles of the substance A are divided by the sum of the moles of the substance A and B in the solution and multiplied by a hundred for the percentage.
