Hint: Body mass index is an index that is used for the calculation of the fat which is present in the body based on the height and weight of the person. It is not calculated in terms of percentage but it is an absolute number. There are various standards that are used to measure BMI.

Complete answer:
Obesity is defined as a chronic and neurobehavioral disease. In obesity, there is a constant increase in body fat which further regulates the dysfunction of adipose tissue and abnormal fats. As a result, the health which includes metabolic, biomechanical, and psychosocial consequences, gets deteriorated with the passage of time.

Body mass index (BMI) is simply defined as a quotient that has been continuously in use since the mid-19th century. The most basic application it has is to identify adults that have an abnormal weight in proportion to their height. The main function of the body mass index is to identify all the people with abnormal body mass.

As we know, the body mass index is defined as the weight of a person in kilograms divided by the square of his/her height in metres. So, the formula for body mass index is:
BMI=(weight)(height)2
Where weight is in kilograms and height is in metres.
So, the unit of BMI is kgm2.
The BMI of a healthy person must not be less than 18.5 and must not be greater than 25.

Note: Often BMI is considered as a diagnostic tool but BMI is not a diagnostic tool. It is basically a tool or an index that is used for the screening of individuals. With the increase in the value of BMI, the exposure to disease also increases. The main problems which are associated with increased weight are obesity and cardiovascular diseases.
