Hint: In a balanced chemical equation, the number of atoms present in the left side of the reaction which is the reactant side and the number of atoms present in the right side of the reaction which is the product side is equal.

Complete step by step answer:
Given,
The volume of stock solution is 0.5 mL.
Here, the 10 fold dilution means that the diluted solution is 10 times greater than the stock solution.
It can also be said that the diluted solution is 10 times lesser than the stock solution.
The dilution is defined as the process, where the solution with higher concentration is changed to a solution of lower concentration by adding an extra amount of water.
Here, we are performing 1:10 dilution where the stock solution is diluted by the factor 10.
The dilution factor is calculated by the formula as shown below.
D.F=VDilVstock
Where,
D.F is the dilution factor
VDil is the volume of the diluted solution.
Vstock is the volume of stock solution
To calculate the volume of the diluted solution, substitute the values of volume of stock solution and the dilution factor in the given formula.
D.F=VDilVstock
10=VDil0.5mL
And hence on doing the simplification,we have
VDil=0.5mL×10
VDil=5mL
Therefore, the volume of diluted solution is 5 mL.
So, 0.5 mL of stock solution is diluted 10 times more to form 5mL of diluted solution.

Note:
When the molarity of both the stock solution and diluted solution is given with volume of stock solution. The volume of diluted solution can be obtained by the formula as shown below.
M1×V1=M2×V2
Where,
M1 is the molarity of stock solution
V1 is the volume of stock solution
M2 is the molarity of diluted solution
V1 is the volume of diluted solution
