Hint:The periodic table was invented to systemize the study of the elements because to study each and every property of the element was difficult. The scientists who worked on the periodic tables were Dimitri Mendeleev, Henry Moseley, etc.
Complete step-by-step answer:There are many elements in nature that have different properties, so if want to study the properties of each and every element, then it is will be a very difficult job, so they were arranged in such a way that the elements which have the same properties were grouped together.
Johann Doberriner was the first to find the similarity of the elements but it was not in the table, he made triads in which three elements were placed having the same properties.
Next, Alexander Newlands gave the law of octaves in which the elements were arranged in increasing order of atomic mass, then, the first and the eight elements had similarities.
These both failed, so Mendeleev actually developed the periodic table, in which he arranged the elements (known at that time) in the increasing order of atomic mass, and the elements having the same properties were placed together.
But this had many limitations because the isotopes were not placed, no clarity in the structure of the atom, etc.
So, Henry Moseley arranged all the elements in the order of atomic number and developed the modern periodic table, which helped to overcome all the limitations in the above periodic table.
Hence, Henry Moseley invented the modern periodic table.
Note:Don’t get confused between the periodic table and modern periodic table, if you were asked who invented the periodic table, then, the answer will be Dimitri Mendeleev.
