Hint: The larynx and the pharynx consist of the throat invertebrates which is the front part of the neck. There are several important structures at that portion to separate food and wind inhaled as they pass through the same part i.e. the pharynx.

Complete answer:
Glottis is the opening between the vocal folds which connects the third part of the pharynx named laryngopharynx to the larynx. In humans, the pharynx is a part of the digestive system whereas the larynx is considered a part of the respiratory tract. There's a flap in the glottis called the epiglottis that prevents the entry of food in the larynx during swallowing.

Additional Information:
The pharynx is the part of the throat behind the mouth cavity and lies above the esophagus and larynx. It is the conducting zone of the respiratory tract. It is divided into three main sections- the nasopharynx, oropharynx, and laryngopharynx.
The glottis connects the lowest part of the pharynx i.e. laryngopharynx to the initial part of the larynx. An important part of this area is the epiglottis that separates the food pipe or gullet from the windpipe and also prevents the entry of food particles into the Respiratory tract by moving backward to cover the larynx.
The larynx or the voice box splits the tract of the pharynx into the trachea and the esophagus. It is involved in breathing, protecting the trachea against food aspiration as well as producing sounds aa the houses the vocal folds that are essential for phonation.

Therefore, the correct answer is option (B) “Glottis”.

Note:
The organs like epiglottis, glottis, etc are very important parts of the throat as they contribute to several functions of the organism. The throat contains several other organs like blood vessels, nasopharyngeal tonsil, the tonsils, trachea, esophagus, and the vocal cords. The pharynx is connected to the mouth and allows the occurrence of speech and ingestion of food and liquids. The larynx contains vocal cords and the epiglottis prevents food or liquid inhalation.
