Hint: Salt is a mineral made mostly of sodium chloride (NaCl), a chemical component that belongs to the broader family of salts; rock salt or halite is salt in the form of a natural crystalline mineral. Seawater contains a large amount of salt. The open ocean has a salinity of 3.5 percent and roughly 35 grammes of solids per litre of sea water. Salt is necessary for life in general, and one of the most basic human tastes is saltiness.

Complete answer:
Sodium chloride is the chemical name for common table salt. Because it has a consistent and defined makeup, it is classified as a material. Chemically, all sodium chloride samples are similar. Water is a pure material as well. Although salt dissolves readily in water, salt water cannot be defined as a material due to its variable composition. A tiny bit of salt or a big amount of salt can be dissolved in the same amount of water. A mixture is a physical combination of two or more components, each of which retains its own identity and qualities. When salt is dissolved in water, just the shape of the salt changes. It hasn't changed in terms of composition or characteristics.
A homogeneous mixture is one in which the chemical composition is consistent throughout. Because the dissolved salt is uniformly distributed across the whole salt water sample, the salt water described above is homogenous. Because they are both uniform, it is common to confuse a homogenous mixture with a pure material. The distinction is that the substance's makeup is always the same. The quantity of salt in the salt water varies depending on the sample. Because the dissolved ingredient is present in the same amount throughout the solution, all solutions are called homogeneous.
The coulombic interaction between Na+ (Sodium cations) and Cl (Chloride anions) produces common salt, which has the formula NaCl. Because mixtures are made up of two or more elements that have been combined together, Na and Cl would constitute a mixture, whereas compounds are made up of two or more elements that have been chemically linked together. NaCl is usually written as a compound, and mixes are always written individually (Na & Cl)
Hence salt is a compound and salt water can be considered as a homogenous mixture.

Note:
A mixture is made up of two or more pure substances that have been mixed together. Because there is no connection between the atoms of the constituent substances in a mixture, it can always be split into component pure substances. While the components that make up a compound may have quite diverse qualities, the substances in a mixture retain their individual properties.
