When the object moves from one position to another position, the object is said to be in the state of motion. The distance between the initial and the final position of the object is known as the displacement of the object. The rate of change of the displacement with respect to time of the object is known as the velocity of the object. The rate of change of the velocity with respect to time is known as the acceleration of the object.
The acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. So, when the velocity is constant the acceleration of the object is zero. But it is valid only for the straight path of the motion.
When the object is moving in rotational or circular motion, the constant speed motion also has a non-zero acceleration.
The acceleration of the object performing uniform circular motion is not zero.

$\Rightarrow a=\dfrac{dv}{dt}$
Where, v is the speed of the particle and t is the time taken
The centripetal acceleration of the particle performing uniform circular motion is given as:
