Hint: The word physiology is derived from ancient Greek word physis which means nature or origin and logia which means study of. Physiology is thus defined as the scientific study of mechanisms and functions that take place within a living system.
Complete answer:
Human physiology is the study to understand how the human body works and how it carries out its day to day activities which includes the physical, biochemical and mechanical functions of the body. The focus of physiology are the organs and the systems that coordinate most of the functions, they help in maintaining homeostasis which in turn helps to maintain a stable internal environment irrespective of external changes.
The different systems and organs that fall under the human physiology are-the nervous system that comprise of the central nervous system consisting of brain and spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system, the sense organs that comprise of eyes, nose, ear and tongue, the musculoskeletal system that comprises of muscles, bones, ligaments, cartilages and tendons.
The circulatory system comprising of the heart and the associated blood vessels, the gastrointestinal system comprising of the mouth, stomach, esophagus, gut, liver, pancreas and gallbladder, the respiratory system comprising of nose, lungs, trachea and nasopharynx, the urinary system comprising of kidney, ureter, urethra and urinary bladder, the immune system comprising of the immune cells.
The reproductive system comprising of all the sex organs and the endocrine system comprising of all the endocrine glands. Thus human physiology is a complex area which might be perceived by some as hard but it is a very important area in life science.
Note: All the different organs and systems of the human physiology mentioned above helps in the proper functioning of humans. Any malfunctioning of any of the parts can be detrimental and can sometimes also be fatal.
