Hint: Chloroplasts are the cell organelles found in the plant cells which are responsible for the process of photosynthesis in the plants. These structures are responsible for production of their own food in the plants in the presence of sunlight.

Complete answer:
Chloroplasts are the cell organelles which contain a pigment called chlorophyll in it which helps in production of food in the presence of sunlight by capturing the energy from the sun. Chloroplast is responsible for the production, storage and conversion of the sunlight into the energy storage molecules into the form of ATP and NADPH while it releases oxygen from water in plants and algal cells.

The chloroplast is a plastid that contains chlorophyll within it as it is the green pigment within the thylakoid membranes of the organelle. Thylakoid is a membrane bound space which is present in the chloroplast of the plant cell which helps in the process of photosynthesis. There is thylakoid lumen present in the thylakoid bound with a membrane.

The thylakoid are present in the form of stacks and are known as grana which help in trapping the sunlight and production of energy molecules with it. The process of making energy molecules like ATP and NADP from carbon dioxide is called the Calvin cycle.

Hence, the correct answer is option (B).

Note: Chlorophyll absorbs light mostly from the blue spectrum of the electromagnetic spectrum along with the red portion. There are two types of chlorophyll exist in photo systems of green plants and that are chlorophyll a and b.
