Hint: Respiration is a process where oxygen is utilised by the cell. In this process, ATP is required to liberate the gas which is present in the atmosphere with 0.03 %.

Step by step answer:Cellular respiration includes the process of metabolism of carbohydrate molecules. The basic carbohydrate molecule that helps to generate energy is glucose. Cellular respiration of glucose includes the following three processes – glycolysis, Krebs cycle, and electron transport chain. This is the pathway for aerobic respiration. The anaerobic respiration includes glycolysis and fermentation processes. Now, if we analyze the given options, option A is telling about the provide of oxygen to the plants – plants do not require oxygen, instead, they produce oxygen by photosynthesis process. Glucose is also produced in photosynthesis. Oxygen is only necessary for animals for living.
In option B it is saying about respiration liberates oxygen – which is a wrong statement. Plants can make oxygen in presence of sunlight by photosynthesis pathway. Carbon dioxide is liberated by the respiration process as we can see in the Krebs cycle that a six-carbon molecule starts the Krebs cycle pathway and it ends with a four-carbon molecule. It means two carbon molecules releases as carbon dioxide.
So, the correct answer is option C. It liberates CO2

Note: There is a huge difference between breathing and respiration. Breathing is a process in which animals can take oxygen and releases carbon dioxide to survive, but respiration is an energy generating process in which oxygen is utilized that is taken during breathing, and carbon dioxide is produced which further releases during breathing.
