Akbar was very fond of sprituailty and to know more about different religions, He built a meeting house where mystics, intellectuals and theologians from different religions such as jains, hindus, islam even atheists gathered together to discuss spirituality. The main purpose of these debates and discussions was to reach to a conclusion that may be prayers are different, but the goal is the same. Ibadat khana was Built in 1575 CE. Ibadat khana was also known as a house of worship. Different experts had different ideas and opinions on the location of Ibadat Khana.  In early 1980s, KK muhammed found walls, steps etc which matched the painting of Ibadat Khana from Akbar's period and hence it was in Fatehpur Sikri.
