Hint: Alexander Hamilton is one amongst the founding fathers of America. He made his impact during the Revolutionary War against the British dominion of the colonists in America. The death of Alexander Hamilton has gone down in history as a very politically charged event of rivalry.

Complete answer: Alexander Hamilton was the first State Secretary of the US treasury who was in conflict with the then Vice President Aron Burr. They had had issues with one another going back to their background even in their family too. But the most important fight, which resulted in the death of Alexander Hamilton was the Burr-Hamilton duel.

This duel happened because Hamilton was accused of speaking ill of the Vice President at a dinner. Even though they had been political rivals before, the situation escalated because of more personal that political remarks.

But before the duel, Burr had demanded of Hamilton to announce that he hadn’t spoken anything ill of him. Being a rival, Hamilton saw this as a challenge to his political standing and therefore, thought it better to accept the duel to save his image. This duel later resulted in his death.

Note: Though the duel was carried about to tarnish the political image of Burr, the killing of Hamilton could never really restore Burr’s image. He was never tried for it but he could not regain his popularity whereas Hamiton became a cultural hero as an American natonalist.
