Hint: In this question apply the property that 1 lakh is equal to 1,00,000 and 1 billion is equal to 1,000,000,000 so use this concept to reach the answer.
Complete step-by-step answer:
As we know 1 lakh is = $1,00,000 = {10^5}$……………………………. (1)
And we also know 1 billion is $ = 1,000,000,000 = {10^9}$ ………. (2)
Now first find out how many lakhs make 1 billion.
So divide equation (2) from equation (1) we have,
$ \Rightarrow \dfrac{{{\text{1 billion}}}}{{{\text{1 lakh}}}} = \dfrac{{{{10}^9}}}{{{{10}^5}}}$
$ \Rightarrow {\text{1 billion}} = {10^4}{\text{ lakhs}}$.
Now in the above equation multiply by 5 we have,
$ \Rightarrow \left( {{\text{5}} \times {\text{1}}} \right){\text{billion}} = \left( {5 \times {{10}^4}} \right){\text{ lakhs}}$
$ \Rightarrow {\text{ 5 billion}} = 50,000{\text{ lakhs}}$……………………………. (3)
Now we also know 1 thousand = $1,000$ .
So, 50 thousand = $50,000$ .
So, equation (3) is also written as
$ \Rightarrow 5{\text{ billion}} = 50{\text{ thousand lakhs}}{\text{.}}$
So, fifty thousand lakhs make 5 billion.
So, this is the required answer.
Note: In such types of questions the key concept we have to remember is that always recall the value of 1 lakh and 1 billion which is stated above then divide 1 billion to 1 lakh then multiply by 5 as above we will get the required answer which is fifty thousand lakhs make 5 billion.
