Hint: The drainage system is an important part of our life.It helps to discharge the sewage, but nowadays it has become a major concern as the Biodegradable waste and non-biodegradable product both are responsible for the blockage of drainage. As in households they didn't separate the dry garbage and wet garbage and generally threw it in the ducts and it blocked and caused the floating of sewage water on the roads. Diseases can be spread and water also gets polluted through the blockage. On a daily basis the Municipal Corporation cleans the drains, vessels, and ducts but the condition is not improving but also not worsening.

Complete answer:
To degrade the excessive amount of biodegradable waste we need more microbes but it was not available in such a huge number. Decomposers have an important role in our ecosystem. They act as saprophytes who are fed up with dead animals. They are also known as Reducers. In both the carbon cycle and phosphorus cycle decomposers play a very important role.
The excessive amount of biodegradable waste by microbes also generates a large number of foul smells which is very dangerous for our health, it will also cause a serious air- borne disease.
Meanwhile the area of the depository will act as a house of flies and mosquitos and it could cause serious diseases like dengue, malaria, diarrhoea, and typhoid.
If it does not degrade properly, that causes a severe drainage system blockage.
Both biodegradable and non-biodegradable can cause very harmful effects on our environment. So, if it is biodegradable and non-biodegradable both will cause the same destruction.
We will not get clean water because both biodegradable and non-biodegradable blocks block the drainage system and also pollute the rivers.
Diseases will spread as the flies and mosquitos move around there and also cause a lot of diseases.
Water from rivers, lakes gets polluted every year. We humans produce 300 million tonnes of plastic which is definitely impossible for us to decompose. So, these plastics as you saw are always floating at the surfaces of rivers.

So, option D is the correct answer.

Note:
Whether it is biodegradable and non- biodegradable, both will threaten human life. So, always remember to separate the biodegradable waste and non-biodegradable waste. On a daily basis try to use eco-friendly products which decompose easily as compared to the biodegradable products.
Majorly, the drainage system in cities is so poor. During rainy seasons it becomes worse, vessels or ducts are totally blocked and cause high levels of drainage water to rise on the roads.
