Hint: Human beings have evolved different features in the shape, size and type of teeth. Almost all human beings have four types of teeth: incisors, canines, premolars and molars. Teeth are a set of bony, hard and mineral rich structures found in the mouth which is used to bite, chew and grasp the food.

Complete step by step answer:
The conventional way of expressing the total number of teeth in the human beings are represented: incisor(I), canines(C), molars(M) and premolars(P). It gives a set like I:C:P: M. For example, if it is given 2:1:2:3 for upper teeth then, it indicates2 incisors, 1 canine, 2 premolars and 3 molars of the upper mouth on one side.
The dental formula of human beings (adults) i.e.
 \[\left( {2123/2123} \right) \times 2 = 32\], in latex form.
There are 2 incisors, 1 canine, 2 premolars and 3 molars. In adults, dentition pertains to all types of teeth development. There are 32 teeth present in a normal adult. There are two types of dentition: temporary and permanent. In temporary there are 20 teeth and 32 teeth present in permanent.
In a child, there are 20 teeth present which are called milk teeth or deciduous teeth. These teeth grow at the age of 6 years. i.e.
\[\left( {2102/2102} \right) \times 2 = 20\]. Two incisors, 1 canine and 2 molars.

Note:
In order to represent the total number of the teeth in the jaw or mouth, the whole formula is multiplied by two as the formula for one side of the mouth. Both monkeys and human beings have the same set of teeth and the same dental formula.
