Hint: Biosphere is a global ecosystem consisting of biotic factors and abiotic factors. There are several species of organisms ranging from microbes and bacteria to large animals.

Complete solution:
Decomposers are the microorganisms which break down complex organic compounds into simpler inorganic compounds, which can be utilised by the plants. Decomposers include saprophytes such as bacteria and fungi. They directly thrive on dead and decaying matter. Decomposers are very essential for the ecosystem as they help in recycling nutrients to be reused by the plants.
They have a very important role to play in an ecosystem.
1. They act as a cleansing agent of the environment by decomposing the dead plants and animals.
2. They help in the recycling of nutrients.
3. They provide space to the new being to the biosphere by decomposing the dead.
4. They help in putting back various elements into water, air, and soil for reuse of producers like crop plants.

Note:
Decomposers are very important to the biosphere as they decompose the complex organic compounds into simple inorganic compounds which can be easily used up by the plants. If decomposers will not be present then there will be no decomposition and hence there will be no available space for new beings. Hence the decomposition process will not take place which will severely affect the biosphere.
