Complete step by step answer:
Even if democracy is considered as the best form of government, few arguments sometimes show its downside.
INNOCENTS ARE EASILY MANIPULATED: It is generally believed that a democratic government is a government of the Incompetent. This notion stems from the fact that the common individual is ignorant and can be politically manipulated.
INSTABILITY: In democracy leaders that govern the nation keep on changing. This in turn leads to instability and chaos at times.
RICH BECOMES RICHER: Democracy, although, is said to be a government of common people but in ground reality, it is a government of the rich. The candidate that has the resources and capital spends lakhs of rupees for winning elections, at the same time a poor individual cannot afford such expenses.
CORRUPTION: Democracy is largely based on electoral competition and that leads to corruption.
MAJORITY DOMINATION: The party that wins the majority may develop despotic tendencies. They might promote only the identity that matters to them and alienate the minorities.
INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE COMPROMISED: Even if the leaders are elected by the people, it is seen that these leaders do not fulfil their promises. Sometimes, they have no interests in working at the grass-root level.

Note: India, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit, slipped 10 positions down and came to 51st position in the Democracy Index (2019). The first rank holder was ‘Norway’, while the last was ‘North Korea’ with a rank of 167.
