2. He constructed a new garrison town named as the Siri for his soldiers.
3. The soldiers had to be fed. This was done through collecting it as tax from lands. It was done between the Ganga and Yamuna. The tax was 50% of the production done.
4. He paid his soldiers cash salaries. This was done in order to make soldiers able to buy their supplies in Delhi. As merchants would raise their prices any time. In order to give a pause to this Alauddin controlled the prices of goods. Prices were carefully checked by officers and merchants who did not sell at the prescribed rates were punished.
