Hint: The entire respiration process is mainly carried by the respiratory system. The respiratory system consists of various respiratory organs such as bronchi which are involved in breathing, but only the lungs are involved in the exchange of gases.

In the respiratory system, the function of the bronchi is to carry air between the trachea and the lungs. The bronchi divide the trachea into two parts: the left and the right bronchi. The right bronchi carries air to and from the trachea to the right lungs whereas the left bronchi carries air to and from the trachea to the left lungs. Each bronchus the left and the right bronchi further divided into smaller and secondary bronchi. Each secondary bronchi gets further divided into smaller tertiary bronchi. These tertiary bronchi are furthermore divided into very small tubules called bronchioles. In alveolar ducts, the end of tiniest bronchioles terminate in clusters of air sacs called alveoli in the lungs. The gaseous exchange between blood and outside air takes place inside the alveoli of the lung.
