Hint:-Centrosomes are formed of two darkly stained granules called centrioles. These are collectively called diplosomes. These centrioles are surrounded by an amorphous and transparent cytoplasmic area called centrosphere or cytocentrum. The centrioles and centrospheres are together referred to as centrosomes.

Complete Answer:-Under an electron microscope, the two centrioles in a centrosome appear as hollow cylinders perpendicular to each other. They are made up of nine peripheral fibrils of tubulin protein that are evenly spaced. The fibrils are absent in the centre and the arrangement is called 9 + 0 arrangement.
Inside, there is an intra-centriolar or cart-wheel structure present that consists of rod-shaped proteinaceous mass known as hub which is connected with tubules of the peripheral triplet fibrils known as radial spokes or fibres. These radial spokes are made up of proteins.
Centrosomes and centrioles perform the following functions:
These form spindle fibres and move to the poles at the time of cell division, which then helps in the movement of chromatids in daughter cells. The centrioles replicate before cell division to ensure that a dividing cell has a pair of centrioles at each pole of the spindle. Some cells such as the giant cells of bone marrow have numerous centrioles.
They are also involved in cilia and flagella formation in the cells.
The distal centriole of a spermatozoon gives rise to the axial filament of the tail.

So the correct answer is A. Initiation of cell division

Note:- Centrosomes are the organelles that act as the main MTOC (microtubule organizing centers) for animal cells. In animal cells, the centrosome is treated similar to DNA. Centrosomes are surrounded by an amorphous pericentriolar material.
