Hint:We know that we have $24$ hours in $1$day and we have to find what will be the value of $6$ hours of a day in fraction. We will use the unitary method to calculate this. So we will first convert a day to hours and then we convert given $6$ hours to the day . We will use the basic fractions here.
Complete step by step answer:
We know that we have $24$ hours in $1$ day.We can also write this as the number of days in $24$ hours is $1$. So in $1$ hour, the number of days can be written as,
$\dfrac{1}{{24}}$ days
Therefore in $6$ hours, we can find the number of days:
$\dfrac{1}{{24}} \times 6 = \dfrac{1}{4}$ day.
Hence we can write that $\dfrac{1}{4}th$ fraction of a day is $6$ hours.
Note:We should note that a fraction is used to represent the portion/part of the whole thing. We should know some of the basics of the day and hour fraction. We know that $12$ hours makes a half day i.e. $\dfrac{1}{2}$ day. Again we can write $6$ hours makes a quarter of the day i.e. $\dfrac{1}{4}$ day. In the above question $6$ hours is a part of $24$ hours. In the numerator of a fraction we write the portion/part and in the denominator we write the total/whole thing.
