Hint: Since we know very well there are 4 quarts in one gallon. The quart is an English unit of volume equal to a quarter gallon. Three kinds of quarts are currently used. First is the liquid quart and second is dry quart and third is imperial quart. All are roughly equal to one liter. If we need more liquid we mostly use gallons. A gallon is the same as 16 cups or 4 units. It is the largest liquid measurement.
Complete step by step solution:
There are 4 quarts in one gallon. Since we have given that there are 5 gallons in each cooler and we have given 3 cooler. It means we have to multiply 5 gallon with the number of coolers, then we get the total gallon in each cooler.
$\Rightarrow 5\times 3=15$
It means there are 15 gallons in each cooler.
Now we have to find that how many quarts are in each cooler, for this we have to multiply how many gallons in each cooler which is given 5 with the number of quarts in one gallon which is given 4, we get
$\Rightarrow 5\times 4=20$
Now we have to calculate the total number of quarts in all 3 cooler holds. For this we have to multiply the number of coolers which is given 3 with the number of quarts in each cooler which we calculated above 20, then we get
$\Rightarrow 20\times 3=60$
Hence there are 60 quarts in all 3 coolers.
Note: To solve these types of question we have reached the question carefully and then solve the question. In this question we see that questions have some units also, so it becomes necessary for us to know the values and meanings of the units.
