The Aam Khas Bagh was built for the exclusive use of the Emperor Shah Jahan. The Royal couple usually stays here while going to and coming back from Lahore. The other monuments include ‘SHEESH MAHAL’ (DAULAT-KHANA-E-KHAS), HAMAM and the Tank were unique methods of heating water at that time and were easily adopted. Presently, a Tourist Complex called ‘MAULSARI’ is being run in the Aam Khas Bagh.

Aam Khas Bagh is the highway-inn for the use of royalty as well as common people today. The Bagh was divided into two parts - the Aam for public use and the Khas for private use by the Royal people. This Royal place was initially built by the ruler Akbar and planned by Mughal architect Hafiz Rakhna. It was reconstructed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan along the Mughal military road between Delhi and Lahore.
