Hint: Decimal multiplication may be tuff but by using some simple method like converting them into whole numbers it becomes easy to solve them.Given numbers have to digits after the decimal hence multiply both the number with 100 so that you will get the required whole number. After the multiplication add the decimal after 4 digits because when you multiply numbers like these the decimal gets placed in different places.
Complete step by step solution:
Multiply both the decimals by 100 to convert them into whole numbers.
$
0.54 \times 100 = 54 \\
0.27 \times 100 = 27 \\
$
Hence, we have $54 \times 27$
Which is $54 \times 27 = 1458$
Now we have the answer for the whole numbers $54 \times 27$so to get the solution for $0.54 \times 0.27$ we have to divide the answer that we got from $54 \times 27$.
Therefore, $\dfrac{{1458}}{{10000}}$ we will be using 10000 because we have multiplied both the decimals number.
Mark the decimal point in the product in such a way that the number of decimal places in the product is equal to the sum of the decimal place in the given decimals.
Sum of decimal places in the given decimals =4.
$0.54 \times 0.27 = 0.1453$
Hence the above mentioned is the easiest method to get the product of two 2 digit decimal values
Note: As mentioned earlier Decimal multiplication may be tuff but by using some simple method like converting them into whole numbers it becomes easy to solve them. We have to make sure while placing the decimal point after multiplication of the whole numbers else the result gets completely varied.
