Hint: In the given question we are asked to write the predecessor of a number which is in mathematics followed by another term successor of the number. So, in this question we need to tell the previous number of the given number.
Complete step-by-step answer:
Predecessor in mathematics is defined as a number that comes just before another number or we can say that it precedes the given number. In other words, we can simplify it as the predecessor means one number less than the given number.
We know that we are given a number zero which is a zero so we can easily find the predecessor of the given number as we know that we can find the predecessors of only whole numbers.
Now, the given number is 0 in the question of which we can find a predecessor by subtracting one as it is less than one number to the given number as defined in the definition. So, $0-1=-1$.
Therefore, the predecessor of the given number 0 is -1
Note: While answering such a question we must know that we can just subtract one to the given number and write the answer as defined in the definition, because according to the definition it must be the whole number so we must keep in mind this condition. Predecessors are not fond of square roots, decimals, fractions, integers etc.
