Hint: To find the area of a given shape you should know what basically the area defines. So the answer is area is the complete space taken by any shape when kept at a surface, now it's up to you how you calculate it, either by using the summation method by taking a small unit and covering all space by that unit then simply add it, or by just product rule.
Complete step by step answer:
as per given details height \[ = 6cm\] and base \[ = 8cm\]
Area of rectangle is \[base \times height\]
So we get \[6cm \times 8cm = 48c{m^2}\]
Formulae Used: Area of rectangle \[base \times height\]
Additional Information: You should know the basic property used for the calculation of the area of a rectangle, i.e. our point of interest in calculating the total space covered by the shape. And for this, you have to find the best suitable method which is the product rule.
Note:
The rectangle is a parallelogram(any 4 sided compact shape whose opposite sides are parallel and a sum of all interior angles are 360), rectangle is also a parallelogram only whose opposite sides are parallel and equal and the angle between any two adjacent sides is 120.
More parallelograms like squares can be defined as shapes whose all sides are equal and opposite sides are parallel, and angles between the adjacent sides are 90.
Talking about the rhombus then the rhombus is also a parallelogram whose opposite sides are equal and the angle between adjacent sides are 90, well known example of a rhombus is “kite”
