Hint: Narration is the act of recounting a series of events, actual or imaginary, in writing or speech. Direct and indirect speech are the two types of narration.

Complete answer:
Let us understand the concept with the help of examples.
Rohan said, “I am making a card for you.”
Rohan said that he was making a card for me.

If we consider these two sentences, we might find that they both express the same message, but if we look closer, there is a difference. In the first sentence, without modifying it, I express Rohan's activities in his own words; it is known as direct speech, or reporting speech. I am using my own vocabulary in the second sentence to explain to the audience the actions of the speaker. We may term this as a reported speech or an indirect speech.

To change these speeches from direct to indirect, there are some important regulations. We need to take into account the tense, the pronoun, the words that define time , place, distance, sentence forms, etc.

Now, let us solve the given question. Here, two sentences are given. The first sentence is in indirect speech and we are asked to change the same into direct speech. The second sentence is left blank to be filled up by us. After looking at the options, we can find out that option A is the correct answer as it has the question asked in direct speech. Therefore, ‘what is your name’ will be the correct answer.

Hence the correct answer is option ‘A’

Note:To change narration of a given sentence, we first need to find out the speech of the sentence. After finding out whether the sentence is in direct or indirect speech, we can change the narration of the sentence.
