Hint: 1 rupee = 100 paise. Similarly 1 paise = 0.01 rupees. Apply this condition to the following values, which we need to convert from paise to rupees.

We have been asked to convert this given value in paise to rupees.
We know that 1 rupee = 100 paise.
$\therefore$1 paise = ${}^{1}/{}_{100}$ rupees.
Now let us use the concept to solve our question.

(i) 5 paise can be written as $5\times 1$ paise.
5 paise = $5\times 1$ paise = $5\times \dfrac{1}{100}$ rupees = 0.05 rupees.
$\therefore$5 paise = 0.05 rupees.

(ii) 75 paise = $75\times 1$ paise.
75 paise = $75\times \dfrac{1}{100}$ rupees = 0.75 rupees.
$\therefore$75 paise = 0.75 rupees.

(iii) 20 paise = $20\times 1$ rupees.
20 paise = $20\times \dfrac{1}{100}$ rupees = 0.2 rupees.
$\therefore$20 paise = 0.2 rupees.

(iv) 50 rupees 90 paise = 50 rupees + 90 paise
50 rupees 90 paise = $50+90\times 1$ paise = $50+90\times \dfrac{1}{100}$ rupees = 50.90 rupees.
$\therefore$50 rupees 90 paise = 50.90 rupees.
Thus we got the values of paise converted to rupees as,
5 paise = 0.05 rupees
75 paise = 0.75 rupees
20 paise = 0.2 rupees
50 rupees 90 paise = 50.90 rupees

Note: If we have to write a sum of money involving both rupees and paise, we can use decimal points. Thus to express an amount consisting of both rupees and paise use decimal point. The numerical indicating rupees is co-written before this point and the numerical indicating paisa is written after the point.
