Hint: During a volcanic eruption, lava comes out and remains on the surface. Similarly, the magmatic material comes out and cools down, and develops into an unusual structure.

Complete answer: A vent or opening in the earth’s crust through which molten material erupts suddenly is known as Volcano. In other words, it can be said that it is a place where the ashes, gases, and molten rock material or lava escape to the ground is known as Volcano.

The volcanoes change the earth’s surface in the following ways:-
During a volcanic eruption, when the released lava cools down, it develops into igneous rocks. The cooling of lava takes place on the earth's surface or in the crustal portion. The igneous rocks are classified as volcanic rocks, depending on the location of the cooling of the lava. These forms are called intrusive forms.
-Large domes are formed by a large body of magmatic material that cools in the deeper depth of the crust. When the denudational processes remove the overlying materials, they appear on the surface of the earth. These are granitic bodies and it covers large areas. These are known as Batholiths and are the cooled portion of magma chambers.
-When the lava comes out of the cracks and the gap develops in the land. When it solidifies, a wall-like structure is developed. This structure is known as dykes and is often found in the regions of western Maharashtra.

Note: On the basis of the nature of eruption and the form developed at the surface, volcanoes are classified. There are four major types of volcanoes, shield volcanoes, cinder cone volcanoes, composite volcanoes, the mid-ocean ridge volcanoes.
