Many natural oxidation reactions are examples of combination reactions. Similarly reactions including metals and halogens in the reactants are examples for Combination reactions. Metals form suitable cations and halogens or oxygen form suitable anions. So it is also generally seen that the combination reactions are also ionic reactions. The rust we see on iron objects is basically a combination reaction and also oxidation reaction as mentioned. It is as follows:

 $ 4Fe + 3{O_2} \to 2F{e_2}{O_3} $ . This is a balanced chemical reaction for the formation of rust which is nothing but ferrous oxide. Another reaction is when hydrogen reacts with highly reactive halogen chlorine as follows:
 $ {H_2} + C{l_2} \to 2HCl $ . This reaction produces one product which is hydrogen chlorine, a popular acid in many chemical reactions.

Note: These reactions can be developed between different metals and reactive non-metals, halogens for instance. There are other examples of covalent bonds like the formation of sulphur dioxide from reaction between sulphur and oxygen.
