Long Trunks: They have a long trunk which is up to the ground level and enables them to deve;op a strong sense of smell, pick up food as well as drink plenty of water when available.
Large Ears: The large ears of the elephants enable them to listen to the softest sounds in the rainforests where they can communicate easily with the other elephants. These ears also help them in keeping themselves cool in the humid environment of the tropical rainforests.
Thick and Padded Feet: They also have a set of padded feet which enable them to walk freely on dangerous lands of the tropical rainforests. It also allows them to walk silently without being noticed by the rivals.
Note:
The other adaptations that are quite prominent in the animals living in the tropical rainforests are camouflage, mimicry, limited diet, small size, nocturnality and poison. Some other organisms also try to change their habitat in the absence of adaptations of this kind.
